The accordion I took 9 years

of lessons when I was a kid.

Still have it. My daddy bought

it in a pawn shop. It’s a Pigini

Ron was my duet partner

for Kiwanis Music Festival

competitions.

Our teacher was RONNIE MORRIS. R.I.P.

He entered us in Kiwanis competitions.

We both competed solo as well as duet.

I was also part of an accordion quartet

and an accordion orchestra.

We performed on

“Night of the Stars”

@ The Jubilee Auditorium

in Edmonton, AB in 1966.

Mr. MORRIS was our

wonderful band director.

We were a 50 piece accordion band.

My first part time job...

summer before grade 12

was teaching little kids

how to play the accordion.

The music school was called

Harmony Kids.

The man in charge

of the music school

left 2 weeks after hiring me

so guess who became the

bookkeeper, lesson scheduler

manager & accordion teacher

and security guard? I did.

1992 my life came full circle

back to teaching music

and I love every minute

with each of my students.

Debra Peters

Debra’s a great teacher.

She is really good on technique,

which is really important

for progress in the long run.

Also, she plays every style there is, which is really good

if you are interested in

different styles.

Debra Peters has been an instrumental

musical influence on both my children.

My kids began lessons with Debra at

an early age (5) and continue to be driven

by the love of music to play piano,

now 5 and 8 years later.

My children each had a different learning style

as one was inspired to play by sound and the other preferred sight reading. Debra was able to modify lessons to meet the needs of both kids, first instilling the love of music through preferences for method and type of music, then doubling back around to the more challenging areas to ensure complete and comprehensive training once they were “hooked”.

I’m so grateful to Debra for her excellent teaching skills and the gift of musical

creativity that will be in my

children’s lives forever.

Our Daughter Rebecca Jane

received monthly Accordion Lessons

from Debra Peters

from April 2013 until May 2015.

We met Debra at the 2013 National Accordion Convention. Rebecca was impressed with Debra’s Skill and Knowledge of this

very complex instrument.

Both Debra and Rebecca bonded quite nicely and our daughter learned a lot from Debra.

She made great progress from Debra’s Lessons and over the years Rebecca developed exquisite Playing techniques and advanced tremendously in her Music Theory.

We could not have been happier with having Debra Peters as our daughter’s Accordion Teacher. As Rebecca got better and more proficient in performing and was offered Gigs

we decided to stop Music Lessons due

to Time Constraints.

We highly recommend Debra Peters

as a Accordion and Piano Teacher.

She is very knowledgeable and devoted

and does Thorough and Fun Lessons.

Her Teaching CDs are sold all over the

world and loved by many.

Debra Peters is a Veteran in the Accordion World and has been hosting the Monthly Accordion Round-Up at the Legendary

Broken Spoke Dance Hall in Austin for 25 years.

She is also involved in the Annual National Accordion Convention in Dallas, The Texas Folklife Big Squeeze Accordion Contest and performs in the Greater Austin area and

Venues all over the US and Canada.

Sincerely yours,

Sabine and Herman Huck
